City Classis exists to follow Christ in mission to cities. Our shared purpose is to cultivate and nurture an environment where spiritual renewal, innovative ministry and leadership development results in healthy and reproducing urban churches.

The Leadership Development Team

• Supervises seminary students and candidates in process toward becoming ministers of word and sacrament
• Processes the call of ministers of word and sacrament to classis churches and congregations
• Oversees the development of commissioned pastors who are pursuing a non-traditional path to pastoral ministry through the RCA's apprenticeship model for ministerial formation.

The Church Health Team

• Annually monitors and assesses the health of classis churches
• Develops, supports and provides resources for coached networks for pastors
• Develops, supports and provides resources for church leadership development
• Meets with the leadership of churches and congregations
• Facilitates consultation for churches to provide ongoing growth and health of classis churhes and congregations

The Church Multiplication Team (new church development)

• Resources the churches of classis to start new congregations
• Allocates the designated classis funds for church planting
• Recruits potential church planters
• Coaches church planters
• Supervises classis church plants
